Launch Pad is built on a Buddhist concept called the heart: 마음 in Korean, in Japanese, citta in Sanskrit. It is a mixture of three ideas: your feelings, your emotions, and the unconscious. Most of us live in our heads. We think about our feelings instead of feeling them. This distinction is the foundation of everything in this program.

Feelings dictate the general direction of where our life goes. If we don't recognize our unconscious emotional patterns, we can't run a mindful business. Your self-authority becomes dependent on other people's responses; your business ends up at the mercy of external approval.

No Teeth, Then Gum.

This Korean expression means: if you don't have teeth, use your gums. Babies eat before they have teeth. They don't give up on eating because they don't have the ideal tools. They work with what they have.

When you encounter resistance in this program, you do the same. You notice it. You don't justify it. You do the work anyway; imperfectly, badly, with resistance. Then you examine: what was that feeling? Where does it come from?

There's a very big difference between saying "I don't want to do Reddit, so I'm just going to be somewhere else" versus "I tried Reddit for four weeks. Here's what I don't really like based on my actual experience."
